UPDATE: The Sumter Police Department reported shortly after 1 p.m. Thursday that Dominique McCray, the 17-year-old Sumter teen reported missing for nearly three weeks, has returned home safely.
ORIGINAL POST: The Sumter Police Department is asking the public’s help in locating a missing Sumter boy who has not been seen by his family for more than two weeks.
The missing young man, 17-year-old Dominique McCray is a black male standing 5 foot 11 inches tall and weighing about 150 pounds. He has black hair, brown eyes and pierced ears, and has a tattoo of the word “Faith” on his right arm.
According to police, McCray was last seen leaving his home on Silver Street on Jan. 31 after having an apparent argument with his mother.
McCray apparently contacted his father shortly after leaving the house, but no one has heard from him since, and he has not answered calls to his cell phone. Friends of the young man have also told police they have not seen him in recent weeks.
