The campaign for former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has announced a Wednesday rally in Sumter for the Presidential candidate, as South Carolina shifts its political focus from the Republicans to the Democrats.
Clinton, who is coming off a 6 percentage-point victory on Saturday in Nevada, will be at the “Get Out The Vote” rally at Morris College in the Garrick-Boykin Human Development Center. The event is currently scheduled to begin at 5 p.m., with doors opening for the event at 3:45 p.m. The rally is free of charge, but the campaign is asking attendees to register in advance, which you can do using this link.
So far in this election cycle, Clinton has a modest win in Nevada, a resounding loss in New Hampshire and a virtual tie in Iowa, but remains the Democratic front-runner. Some recent polls have shown Vermont senator Bernie Sanders possibly cutting somewhat into that lead in their head-to-head race, however Clinton still remains well ahead of her rival among Palmetto State voters.
South Carolina Democrats will vote Saturday, Feb. 27, with polling places open from 7 a.m.to 7 p.m.
